My personal journey...
Many of us associate the word habits with being good or bad. There’s some truth to that fact. But I’ve learned that both good and bad habits can be transformed into what I call powerful habits. These habits are powerful enough to help you achieve your goals and improve every area of your life permanently.
I discovered these powerful habits during a time in my life when my days were ruled by panic attacks. After several years of trying various forms of medications doctors referred to as “light muscle relaxers,” I realized all I was doing was masking the symptoms of certain habits and behaviors that kept me going in circles and feeling trapped. That’s when I went on my journey to find the necessary changes I needed to lead a more purposeful and meaningful life.
I started spending more time in nature and noticed I could hear my thoughts and feel more in tune with my emotions. I also paid more attention to what I ate and how it made me feel. The more in tune I became with myself the more control I had over my thoughts and behaviors. This journey led me to a new way of life and eventually as a Life and Nutrition Coach. Once I understood the importance of nourishing my emotional, mental, and physical health, my panic attacks slowly happened less often and with less intensity.
Today, I’m proud and feel blessed to say my panic attacks no longer rule my life. I’m not saying they don’t try to come back now and then, but I control them, they don’t control me. I guess you could say, I found my own “light muscle relaxer” by creating two powerful habits that helped transform my life. Each day I take two environmental vitamins – fresh air and sunshine, in a capsule called nature where I go on nature walks to slow down my mind and practice taking deep breaths to help me relax when feeling overwhelmed and stressed. I stay connected to nature throughout my day by implementing its healing benefits into everything I do.
Eating as many whole nutrient-based and organic foods as possible and choosing products with the least amount of chemicals is part of the many changes I’ve made to live a more holistic balanced life. I strongly believe nourishing both our body and mind creates a sense of wellness and mental clarity in our lives.
